As a saxophone player i would have been pissed off too. Im already playing a SOLO ! as much i LOVE jaco and his unhinged creativity and things only HE could do at time , IN THIS INSTANCE im not having it.

The title is merely one person expressing their interpretation of the interplay of these 2 great musicians. The fact that this person is entirely wrong and titled the clip as well as the added commentary merely to elicit pleasure from inciting responses from us viewers, does not diminish the fact it exists and is simply amazing.

Jaco overplayed. Brecker got pissed. That's it.

This brain dead telling of this event is exactly the reason why so many musicians have succumbed to the stupidity of treating music as if it was a competitive sport. It ain’t. If MB was pissed he was low key and musically it was pretty damn good. Maybe MB knows better than to get too enthusiastic when it goes well because you know how slippery that ride can be. And when push comes to shove MB kept his groove on way beyond JP who essentially spun out on his own exalted reputation. Transcendence means humility, not triumph!

Around 1:40 it sounds as if Jaco is beginning to play a bassline which doesn't compliment the song.

What a team

It's clear "for the people who can actually hear" (which I admit allot of the masses are mostly incapable of doing) that Michael was way to low in the mix. And seeing as Jaco has a bass amp on stage, Michael probably couldn't hear himself. There is nothing worse than doing live music on a stage and not being able to hear yourself (you have no ability to know if your even hitting the rite notes). Michael's sound was thin (caused by a shit engineer who doesn't know what the low knob on a mixing deck is for), and under-volumed. I would say that this is what the disapproving face was actually about. Michael was following Jaco all through that solo, and Jaco always liked to create things like chord effects and tensions (the stuff soloist's thrive on). It was a sound problem I would say and nothing else. Musical prowess does not remotely enter into it. But it could be red as this to someone who (how can I say it) is perceptualy challenged. A bit like the whole "woke" generation.

The premise of this video is stupid. If anything, Mike was pissed because Jaco started noodling around over Brecker's solo, thus trumping over the sax and drums when he shouldn't have. He was also stomping over Joni's vocals, but she was more amused than anything else because she is the singer and DOESN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE RHYTHM. Jaco's first and foremost should have kept the pocket, but instead he tried to upstage everybody else and made them ubcomfortable. His creativity was amazing, but you can already see here that his musical instincts didn't mesh well with what a session or touring musician is supposed to do at that point in time. If this was a free form jazz context, then what he did here might have been musically adequate, but it's pretty clear this wasn't the case.

sounded like Jaco lost some of the form and stretched outside doing what he does. Michael played wonderful and the 2 killed it.

This kind of videos are crap, sorry but thats all. Jaco's volume was way up to the level that you can barely hear Joni, Michael brecker was killing and you say pure bs on 1:57. Its like your content encourages people into being an ass without even knowing why.

I was very disappointed in this product. The problem is the little amplifier which Yamaha calls a Personal Studio. The biggest problem concerns intonation. If I start at low C & go to middle C the intonation is about a half step off. Middle C# sounds more like an octave above low C. The sound you hear in the headphones still sounds a bit muted. It was not the clear unmuted sound I was hoping for. There are also some puzzling & unnecessary features. For instance there is a reverb feature. This is a trumpet, not an electric guitar. The reverb, which can be very strong, just makes it sound phony. There is also a switch for changing the sound to what they say replicates what one would hear from the point of view of the player or from an audience member. What would be better would be a tone control or even an equalizer so that one could make it sound more like an unmuted trumpet. One tip: I was able to connect this to a tape deck input on my stereo amp which allowed me listen with a pair of good quality headphones instead of the cheap earbuds that are provided. My advice is to forget this product & just get a good practice mute.

this was my first Rescue of a chicken and unfortunately it didn't end well and I don't think it could have really ended well regardless. However after I thought about it I realized it did end a lot better for the chicken than it could have have the chicken was in a dumpster smelly dirty unsanitary and I'm guessing other things would have been dumped on the chicken so she could have spent her last day night and another half day being miserably uncomfortable or in torturous pain and instead I cleaned her up washed her off allowed her to eat bread crumbs and water if she wanted but she didn't and then provided a safe spot where all the Flies couldn't get to her on a nice towel and a breeze blowing on her and made it very quiet none of the dogs were allowed to go in there so in reality it did end up much better for her than it otherwise would have been in that dumpster
